These spacious fully self contained apartments are situated in National Park Village, at the junction of SH4 and SH 47, beside the World Heritage Tongariro National Park. This village is an ideal base for numerous winter and summer activities and is well supported with a selection of good eateries plus outdoor shops for winter sports.
The village is 825 metres above sea level affording the apartments panoramic views to the volcanoes of Mt. Ruapehu, Mt Ngauruhoe, Mt. Tongariro and the smaller Mt Hauhangatahi .
Alpine Apartments, accommodate six people in three bedrooms and a spacious lounge, are well appointed for your family and friends to relax in, on your Tongariro holiday. Each apartment is well heated and has laundry and drying facilities plus a fully equipped kitchen making for a comfortable stay. You have the choice of eating in or eating out at local bars and restaurants which are within easy walking distance of the apartments.
For the more active there is an impressive variety of outdoor experiences available. In winter Mt Ruapehu offers skiing and snowboarding on the two largest ski areas in New Zealand.
In summer the famous Tongariro Crossing and the Mt Ruapehu Crater climb are very popular. Alongside this there are a host a short walks through the alpine tussock country and mountain beech forests of the Tongariro National Park and surrounds. Various mountain biking around the Village and in the Tongariro Forest such as the 42 Traverse, The Pines and Fishers Track are good fun as well. Canoeing on the Whanganui River or a gentle inflatable raft down the Whakapapa River is another great dimension to the local attractions.
